The AI Visibility Index

The AI Visibility Index is a periodic measurement of which brands AI assistants actually name and recommend, by category. It is sampled on a fixed suite of non-branded buyer questions, and each edition states the engines it covers and how many times each question was asked — because those two numbers decide how much the result is worth. Every figure carries a confidence interval and a measured run behind it.

How to read this. Share is the proportion of answers naming that brand when a buyer asks a category question — not a market share, not a sentiment score. The bracket after each figure is the 95% confidence interval: where two brands' intervals overlap we mark them tied rather than ranking through noise, because a rank we can't defend is worse than no rank. Prompts are non-branded buyer questions, so a brand can only appear when an engine volunteers it. Full method: our published methodology.

Frequently asked questions

What does “share” mean here?
The proportion of answers naming that brand when a buyer asks a category question. It is not market share and it is not sentiment — only how often the brand appears in the answer.
Why are some ranks shown as ties?
Every figure carries a 95% confidence interval. Where two brands' intervals overlap, the ranking between them is not resolved by the sample, so they are marked as a tie rather than ordered.
How often is the index updated?
It is measured periodically, and each edition publishes the run id, sample size, repetitions and the engine list it used — because those numbers decide how much the result is worth.
