What is your AI traffic actually worth?

AI traffic is the answer your analytics can’t give you: how many visits AI assistants send, what those visitors do, and what they are worth, read from your own Google Analytics. Walk into the budget meeting with a number, not a hunch.

The AI traffic screen: four figures in focus (crawled 169,470; AI-referred sessions 2,799, a lower bound; key events 57; value 28,220 euros) with the visits-by-week chart out of focus below them.
Crawled, visits, conversions, value: read from your own Google Analytics.

Turn a mystery line in analytics into a budget number

Visits from AI assistants are already in your analytics with nothing to explain them. AI traffic lines them up in four numbers: how much AI crawlers read, how many visits followed, what those visitors did, and what it was worth. The example workspace: 169,470 pages crawled, 2,799 AI-referred visits, 57 conversions from them (2.04%, 1.6× the rest of the site) and €28,220 in value, 2.0× the rest of the site per visit.

The AI traffic figures on the example workspace: 169,470 crawled at 60.5 per visitor, 2,799 AI-referred sessions marked a lower bound, 57 key events at 2.04% of them, 28,220 euros as recorded.
Example dataFour numbers, each with what it is out of. Visits are marked as a lower bound on the screen, not in a footnote.

A number you can defend when someone pushes back

Some AI visits arrive without a label: copied links, apps and some in-app browsers strip where a visit came from. AI traffic reports the visits it can prove and marks the figure as a lower bound. The real number is higher, and you won’t be caught overclaiming. Google AI Overviews arrive as ordinary Google traffic and can’t be split out; the list marks them not separable instead of showing a zero.

Honest about the connection

Not connected, still reading, no AI visits this period, or couldn’t check: each is shown as what it is, because each needs a different fix.

Your currency, as recorded

Value is read from your own purchase or event values, in the currency Google Analytics reports. Two currencies are never added into one number.

The whole site, not one product

The figures cover your whole Google Analytics property. The pages list shows which product each page belongs to.

What it does not do

AI traffic joins your analytics to what the answers say. These are the claims it won’t make.

It does notWhat it does instead
Credit revenue to one answerReads visits, conversions and value for the whole property; the answer that sent a visit is not in the referrer
Present value per visit as a causePrints it as a comparison across one property, with the note from your analytics
Split the four numbers per productReads the whole site; the pages list shows the product each page belongs to

Fair questions

Do I need Google Analytics?
Yes, a GA4 property, connected on Data sources. It reads sessions, key events and value from the property you already own; nothing is added to your site.
Why is the visits figure a lower bound?
Because attribution is by referrer, and referrers are stripped by copied links, native apps and some in-app browsers. The screen reports the floor it can prove and labels it; the true figure is higher.
What about Google AI Overviews?
They arrive as ordinary google.com traffic and cannot be separated from search clicks. They are marked not separable rather than counted as zero.
Can it tell me the traffic for one product?
Not the four headline numbers: they cover the whole site. The pages list narrows to one product, because each page carries one.

Keep going

Explain the line in analytics nobody planned for.

Connect Google Analytics, measure your brand, and track the visits AI sends beside the answers that sent them.
