Visibility Index
The published arithmetic behind the composite score.
The formula#
The Visibility Index weights are 0.4 × simple share of voice + 0.4 × named rate + 0.2 × recommendation rate. All components must be available; the score is not silently reweighted around a missing component.
Reading the score#
The weights are chosen to keep the score easy to explain; they are not fitted to outcomes. A change of weights is a deliberate product decision, and each stored reading records the weight set the index was computed under.
A higher index is better. Read the index together with its three parts and act on the part that moved: when the index changes, check whether share of voice, named rate or recommendation rate changed.
